Your role

 

We are looking for an Assistant Project Manager to join a client team based in Montreal, Quebec.

 

This position is a full-time opportunity dedicated to supporting one of our clients. In this role, you will work directly with the client’s team while benefiting from the support, resources, and project management expertise of Colliers Project Leaders.  In this role, you’ll support experienced project managers and get the opportunity to sharpen your skills on diverse range of projects varying in scope and complexity.

Responsibilities

  • You will be a communication link between project stakeholders, helping to facilitate collaboration and information sharing throughout the project lifecycle
  • Provide project support to Project Managers by managing schedule updates, maintaining project controls, developing progress reports and preparing tender and contract documents
  • Ensure project activities are conducted in accordance with the client's policies, procedures and quality standards
  • Attend project meetings, documenting action items and key decisions to share with the team
  • Provide relief support to other Assistant Project Managers or Project Managers, as required

Qualifications

  • A university degree or diploma in engineering, construction management, project management or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1-3 years’ experience supporting the delivery of projects in areas such as construction or engineering
  • Experience supporting retail, commercial or institutional projects is considered an asset
  • Experience monitoring and coordinating construction activities during project execution
  • An overall general understanding of current construction practices
  • CAPM, LEED or other relevant industry accreditation is considered a strong asset, but not required
  • Fluent in both French and English, with strong verbal and written communication skills in both languages
  • Proficient communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivation, initiative and an eagerness to learn and contribute
  • Highly proficient in MS Project, MS Word and MS Excel
  • A valid driver's licence and access to reliable transportation for travel to project sites as required
