Your role

As a Sector Director, you’ll be the driving force behind spotting emerging trends, shaping regional growth strategies, and fueling sector performance. You’ll work across a dynamic matrix environment, partnering with leaders and teams to turn insights into action and deliver on ambitious sales targets. You’ll elevate our brand through thought leadership, industry presence, and meaningful client engagement, powered by your strong and expanding network across the sector. Responsibilities

Strategy

  • Direct the development of the sector/account business plan, with input from key stakeholders, and implement to achieve the sector/account sales targets for the year in the region.

Leadership

  • Demonstrate and act as a role model and influencer of our values and cultural behaviors
  • Develop new market opportunities for Colliers in the sector/account
  • Coach practitioners and leadership on sales strategies/tactics for the sector/account
  • Establish a strong brand presence for Colliers in the sector/account through authoring thought leadership, featuring in video spotlights, speaking at events and conferences nationally, and in existing sector accounts
  • Connect project teams and clients with others in the sector/account to share knowledge and perspectives

Growth

  • Support regional sector/account pursuits as required by the Business Units, providing sector/account specific input and guidance on relevant trends, challenges, commercial strategy, and resourcing decisions
  • Identify opportunities, key accounts and clients in region and lead priority pursuits in collaboration with the Business Units
  • Support prospecting and competitive pursuits
  • Understand client buying behavior in the sector/account, with an ability to influence the procurement process to better position Colliers for success

Management

  • Lead sales planning for the sector/account, including service integration
  • Clarify and anticipate sector/account trends and articulate how they affect clients in the sector/account, both internally and externally, developing plans to capitalize on them or to pivot as necessary
  • Develop Sector/Account champions in the BUs to collaboratively grow talent and sector/account specific qualifications
  • Identify and work with key experts in BUs to support growth and build qualifications in the sector/account

Quality

  • Implement a culture of quality and adherence to our Sales system
  • Drive the integrity, accuracy, and consistency of all data assets within the sector/account to support informed decisionmaking and operational excellence

Qualifications

  • Ten (10) years’ experience as a practitioner (consultant or client side) in the sector is considered an asset. Minimum five (5) years experience in sales is required
  • Practiced in consultative sales; listening to clients, identifying opportunities, knowing what is required to close the sale, and seeing the sale through
  • Professional industry credentials relevant and specific to the sector is considered a strong asset
  • Is a known industry player and leader across the sector regionally and is well connected with key organizations and clients (target and existing) in the sector
  • An established network of sector contacts regionally and involvement with applicable sector industry and trade associations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, facilitation and presentation skills for all levels of our clients and our own organization including a proven ability to write winning proposals
  • The ability to project and maintain a positive outlook and demonstrate an energetic disposition
  • Willingness to travel as required locally and within region
