Join our team as an Accountant!

 

A team-oriented individual looking to further your career in the professional services sector by providing support and expertise to our corporate accounting team. Reporting to the Manager, Accounting Services, you would be part of a substantial team committed to supporting an established national project management firm focused on significant growth in the coming years.

Responsibilities

  • Provide monthly reconciliation schedules and project profit and loss analysis on major customer accounts for internal and external review
  • Conduct monthly closing process and financial reporting and review for Business Units.
  • Coordinate with BU project management team in interpreting and improving project financials.
  • Complete assigned internal reports on a monthly / quarterly basis
  • Assist with analysis, verification, and posting transactions to general ledgers module or other modules
  • Work together with other accounting team members including AR, AP, Project Accounting, Corporate Accounting and Business processes to optimize financial operations
  • Assist with ad hoc reporting requests
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 10 years of experience in accounting, with a proven track record in senior or supervisory roles.
  • BSc in Accounting, Finance or relevant degree.
  • Additional certification (CPA) is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
  • A good knowledge of accounting principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, procedures, and practices.
  • Excellent team player with strong organization skills.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines, under pressure, and in a fast paced environment.
  • Knowledge of financial and accounting software applications such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, Great Plain, or other ERP system.
  • Must be willing to work with minimal supervision, be well organized, able to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Take initiative to solve problems and pay attention to details.
  • Strong knowledge of computer applications and advanced Excel skills: Microsoft Office and Power BI.
  • Knowledge of project accounting is an asset.
  • Effective communication skills, with ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner.
