Your role

 

Join our team as a Junior Business Intelligence Developer with the IT team.

 

The Junior Business Intelligence Developer works as a member of the Application Development and Support team to develop and maintain business intelligence solutions.  In this position, you will build and maintain company data warehouse components, data models, data sets, and reports that are used to aid in business performance monitoring and business decision-making.

 

Responsibilities

  • Work as a member of IT project teams to design, implement, and support business intelligence solutions in a Microsoft SQL, Power BI, and ZAP Datahub environment
  • Work with business teams and finance reporting personnel to analyze data and translate business needs into technical specifications
  • Utilize BI platforms and BI tools to develop and maintain self-service data models and repositories
  • Develop and refine data views and queries using Structured Query Language (SQL) and related variants like T-SQL
  • Processes data extracts and configures data source connections using standard and custom data interfaces and APIs
  • Develop test plans and test scripts to perform testing and administration of user acceptance testing
  • Develop and conduct business intelligence-related training for HelpDesk staff and end-users
  • Ability to write and optimize complex queries.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree or certification in computer science or data analytics related field, or an equivalent combination of academic and practical experience in data analytics or business intelligence reporting.
  • Education and practical experience using common data sources and APIs such as ODBC, OData, MS SQL, and Azure SQL
  • Firm understanding of data warehouse concepts, structures, and services such as ETL tools and OLAP services
  • A firm understanding of software change management process and testing
  • Proficiency in writing specifications, user documents, and presentation materials in English
  • Experience using Power BI, MS Visual Studio is an asset.
