Your role

Join our Yukon team as a Project Manager with the Northern Canada Business Unit.

 

We are seeking an aspiring, self-motivated, and collaborative Project Manager to join our team of experts committed to leading projects and building relationships across our Northern Canada business unit.

 

In this role, you’ll work closely with clients to provide strategic advice and have the rewarding opportunity to contribute to meaningful change through projects that enhance access to housing, clean drinking water, education, and community infrastructure. Our team is committed to improving outcomes where people live, while fostering opportunities for reconciliation, economic participation, climate resilience, and environmental stewardship. Responsibilities

  • You seek to better the communities you work in, respect local knowledge and the customs and culture of the people you work with, including Indigenous Nations.
  • Progressively develop delegation skills and progress on leading project deliverables.
  • Serve as an orientation buddy for new Assistant Project Managers.
  • Learn about Colliers’ service lines and positively promote services to support clients
  • Learn keys to client relationship building.
  • Provide project delivery support to designated project managers (PMs).
  • Deliver work in accordance with Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Develop expertise in assistant project management deliverables.
  • Support Indigenous Nations to develop economic prosperity through strategic land planning, land development and business development.
  • Support Indigenous Nations and local authorities to plan for emergencies and rebuild after climate related disaster.
  • Consult directly with community leaders and stakeholders, funding partners, design and construction professionals to plan and implement capital building and infrastructure projects.
  • Work with a variety of client groups in both the public and private sectors, including First Nations, Tribal Councils and Indigenous Nations groups and organizations.

Qualifications

  • Preferably 1-2 years’ experience in project management consulting, supporting the delivery of projects in areas such as construction, engineering, or architecture. Previous experience can include summer work terms, co-operative education programs or internships will be considered.
  • A university degree or diploma in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management (or an equivalent combination of academic and practical experience).
  • Familiarity with building codes, contracts and regulations, construction administration, and ethics
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A client-centric attitude and excellent customer service skills.
  • Actively working towards obtaining PMP certification.
  • Preference for candidates with demonstrated experience working respectfully in cross-cultural settings, including building, and maintaining relationships with Indigenous Nations.
  • Experience building and nurturing long-term client relationships and working collaboratively with Local Governments and First Nations is considered a strong asset.
