Your role

 

Join our team as a Assistant Project Manager with the Interior British Columbia team.

 

In this role, you’ll work closely with clients to provide strategic advice and have the rewarding opportunity to contribute to meaningful change through projects that enhance access to housing, clean drinking water, education, and community infrastructure. Our team is committed to improving outcomes where people live, while fostering opportunities for reconciliation, economic participation, climate resilience, and environmental stewardship.  

Responsibilities

  • You seek to better the communities you work in, respect local knowledge and the customs and culture of the people you work with, including Indigenous communities
  • Progressively develop delegation skills and progress on leading project deliverables
  • Support Indigenous communities to develop economic prosperity through strategic land planning, land development and business development
  • Support Indigenous communities and local authorities to plan for emergencies and rebuild after climate related disaster
  • Learn about Colliers’ Project Leaders service lines and positively promote services to support clients
  • Learn keys to client relationship building.
  • Provide project delivery support to designated project managers (PMs).
  • Deliver work in accordance with Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Develop expertise in assistant project management deliverables
  • Consult directly with community leaders and stakeholders, funding partners, design and construction professionals to plan and implement capital building and infrastructure projects
  • Work with a variety of client groups in both the public and private sectors, including First Nations, Tribal Councils and Indigenous community groups and organizations.

Qualifications

  • Preferably 1-3 years’ experience in project management consulting, supporting the delivery of projects in areas such as construction, engineering, or architecture
  • Previous experience supporting Indigenous Projects is preferred
  • Preference for candidates with demonstrated experience working respectfully in cross-cultural settings, including building, and maintaining relationships with Indigenous communities
  • A university degree or diploma in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management (or an equivalent combination of academic and practical experience).
  • Familiarity with building codes, contracts and regulations, construction administration, and ethics
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A client-centric attitude and excellent customer service skills
  • Actively working towards obtaining PMP certification
  • Experience building and nurturing long-term client relationships and working collaboratively with Local Governments and First Nations is considered a strong asset

Approximate Base Salary Range for Role: $60,000 CAD to $80,000 CAD.

 

Base Salary pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location and reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire base salaries for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Annual bonus opportunities are in addition to base salary.
