Your role

 

Join our team as a Senior Project Manager, leading teams to deliver complex capital projects in the energy sector including generation/transmission projects, renewable energy projects including solar, wind, geothermal, hydrogen, nuclear, and facilities supporting these assets.

 

Based in either Halifax, Moncton, or Fredericton you will work with a team of experts who lead major capital building and infrastructure projects across Atlantic Canada. You bring your previous experience leading and delivering energy sector projects that vary in scope and complexity. You’ve become known as a trusted advisor to your clients and have built strong, lasting relationships with senior leaders and decision makers.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead programs of work and large capital projects, varying in scope and complexity within the energy sector.
  • Develop strong client relationships and act as the client’s single point of contact throughout the project to achieve the client’s strategy and goals.
  • Ensure client expectations are met or exceeded on all projects and the client’s best interests are represented with respect to contractual and technical issues.
  • Be responsible for the financial performance of our projects and ensure a high standard of delivery in accordance with our quality management system.
  • Bring innovation and new ideas to the project team and help solve complex problems.
  • Support early project planning and organizational governance that leads to certainty on capital projects.
  • Provide strategic advice to community leaders which may include key stakeholders on a variety of complex organizational issues.
  • Be a leader and a team player with clients, colleagues, and other project partners.
  • Support intermediate and junior team members with coaching and mentorship to help develop their skills and grow their careers.
  • Be entrepreneurial and support business growth by leading pursuits and developing winning proposals.

Qualifications

  • A proven track record of successfully delivering energy sector related projects from preconstruction stage to close out is a strong asset.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in project management, at least five of those in Canada. Experience as an Owner’s representative an asset.
  • Proven experience working within an electrical utility or other heavy industrial setting.
  • Demonstrated experience or specialized expertise within the energy sector such as system health monitoring, maintenance, design, and procurement/supply chain of energy related projects.
  • Experience providing services in all phases of the project lifecycle from inception to close-out.
  • Demonstrated prior experience delivering large, high-profile energy related projects as the lead Project Manager.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the public procurement processes
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • A demonstrated, understanding and working knowledge of capital project delivery models, including design-build, progressive design-build, construction management, design-bid-build, integrated project delivery and P3
  • A university degree or diploma in engineering, architecture, construction management or another related field.
  • Project Management Professional designation (PMP) is considered an asset.
  • P.Eng. or C.E.T.
