Your role

 

We are looking for a Project Manager who is seeking the right opportunity to level their skills in the municipal and developmental infrastructure services sector of our Toronto business unit. 

You bring previous experience in leading projects varying in scope and complexity in the delivery of municipal and private development infrastructure projects, including streetscapes, parks, transits, developments and other infrastructure projects. You've become known as a trusted advisor to your clients and have built strong, lasting relationships with senior leaders and decison makers. 

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Develop strong client relationships and act as the client’s single point of contact throughout the project to achieve the client’s goals and objectives;
  • Lead programs or work and large capital projects, varying in size and scope.
  • Manage all stakeholders including both clients and consultants;
  • Ensure that client expectations and satisfaction are met or exceeded on all projects and the client’s best interests are represented with respect to contractual and technical issues;
  • Select and organize project teams and establish levels of authority and lines of communication;
  • Lead the control of project related documents and deliver all work in accordance and compliance with Colliers Project Leaders Quality Management System and procedures;
  • Chair project and site meetings, find resolution to issues and coordinate between multiple stakeholders;
  • Maintain contact with existing and prospective clients and respond to business development and sales opportunities with support from the Business Development Team, Principal or Regional Vice President;
  • Report on project status by means of schedule updates, meeting minutes, financial records and other reports;
  • Provide oversight and leadership to the change management process, payment certificates and other contract or project related administrative documents.

Qualifications

 

  • A university degree or diploma in landscape architecture (or an equivalent combination of academic and practical experience)
  • 5 - 8 years of project management experience, representing owners in the delivery of streetscape, park, transit, and development projects
  • Familiarity with the design process, value engineering, and approvals necessary to proceed with construction in a municipal setting
  • Strong understanding of best practice Project Management methodologies and procedures within a PMO environment
  • Effective client and stakeholder management matched with the ability to effectively influence others and successfully resolve a variety of client and technical issues.
  • Detail oriented leader with the ability to work in a process driven environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including a working knowledge of scheduling (MS Project), word processing (Word) and spreadsheet (Excel) software applications
  • OALA or PMP designations are an asset
