Your role

 

In this role, we are looking for a Project Manager to join our team as we continue to experience unprecedented growth. We are looking for an experienced Project Manager with in-depth building construction and procurement knowledge; either with new construction or capital improvement/renovation projects. You will be joining our team of experts and will get the opportunity to demonstrate your experience on projects where you have managed design and construction projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead building projects, of varying size and scope, in various sectors including housing, education, and private sector.
  • Develop strong client relationships and act as the client’s single point of contact throughout the project to achieve the client’s goals and objectives.
  • Lead program and project planning, scheduling and budgeting, consultant procurement, contractor tendering, operational readiness planning, and contract administration efforts.
  • Lead project teams and manage project staff allocated to your projects, peer reviewing their deliverables and continuously developing their knowledge and capabilities.
  • Ensure client expectations and satisfaction are met or exceeded on all projects and the client’s best interests are represented with respect to contractual and technical issues.
  • Provide oversight and leadership of all elements of the project delivery
  • Chair project and site meetings, find resolution to issues and coordinate between multiple stakeholders.
  • Regularly report to the client on project status by means of schedule updates, meeting minutes, financial records and other reports.
  • Adhere to the Colliers ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Provide leadership and mentorship of junior project resources.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, delivering new build and capital improvement projects.
  • Recent experience delivering projects in the housing, education and private sectors, advising and working collaboratively with senior stakeholders (Client representatives and/or provincial/municipal government partners).
  • A bachelors degree, or higher degree, or technical diploma in engineering, architecture, planning, project management, or construction management (or an equivalent combination of academic and practical experience).
  • Strong knowledge of various types of construction methodologies, project management models and financial management.
  • Depth of knowledge in program and project planning, scheduling and budgeting, interior and base building construction techniques and contract administration.
  • Leadership and organizational skills with the ability to influence others and successfully resolve a variety of client, project and technical issues.
  • Experience with the preparation of RFP's and tenders, RFP evaluations and tender closing procedures.
  • Experience with standard forms of Contracts in the design and construction industry is considered an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including a working knowledge of scheduling (MS Project), word processing (Word) and spreadsheet (Excel) software applications.
  • PMP designation is an asset.
