Your role

 

Join our team as a Risk Manager to support managing risk on capital projects for our Federal Government team.  

 

As a Risk Management consultant, you are part of a dynamic and client oriented professional environment providing consulting services to owners. You are great with numbers and people. Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance to the federal clients in managing and oversees the entire risk management process for a project or a portfolio of projects
  • Risk on projects of various sizes and complexities and as well enterprise level risk
  • Conduct risk assessments and evaluate potential risks and opportunities
  • Identify project and procurement risks, review and audit claims for various project, programs or portfolios.
  • Recommend alternative solutions, methodologies, and strategies for risk mitigation, acceptance, avoidance, or transfer as is most appropriate understanding the client’s unique approach and risk tolerance level.
  • Develop and manage the implementation of Risk Management Plans, Risk Registers  
  • Design and facilitate risk identification and risk planning workshops.
  • Apply qualitative and quantitative risk analysis techniques to establish effective risk management strategies
  • Deploy risk analysis tools such as PESTEL, SWOT, Monte Carlo simulations etc. to support the risk management plan development and risk monitoring and control activities
  • Lead risk monitoring and control activities and work with project owners to manage risk budgets and contingences
  • Assist the project team manage change, communicate and coordinate between multiple stakeholders, resolve issues, and assist the project team deliver projects on time and on budget 
  • Coach, mentor and train project teams in risk mitigation techniques
  • Assist with development of Communication Plans with a view to supporting risk management.
  • Provide leadership and support to the design, implementation and evaluation of clients’ products/services performance measures, risk management and risk mitigation strategies

Qualifications

 

  • University or college degree or diploma in engineering, architecture, construction management or an equivalent combination of academic and practical experience
  • Minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in a similar project management or advisory role, consulting to public sector clients
  • A broad consulting skill set including strong presentation and stakeholder management, business case and report writing, and organizational and analytical skills
  • Professional industry credentials such as PMP, PMI-RM, E.I.T/P.Eng., CET, Registered Architect, or other similar industry-recognized designation is considered a strong asset 
  • Strong project controls and analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and presentation skills with the ability to effectively interpret and compile information and effectively articulate and present findings
  • Exceptional writing ability and aptitude for compiling well-thought out and concise summaries, reports and recommendations that provide outstanding value to clients
  • Excellent relationship-building skills to interact with clients, colleagues, and external industry subject matter experts
  • Proficiency in working with Project Management Information Systems/Project Controls Softwares (e.g. Primavera P6, Crytal Ball, Procore, Unifier etc.)
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint is essential; MS Project experience is an asset.
  • Must hold or be eligible for valid Government Security clearance at the Reliability or Secret level.
