    Who you are:


    We’re looking for Junior Inspectors who, alongside a Senior Inspector, can take responsibility for field inspections and related documentation for a variety of transportation construction projects in Eastern Ontario.

    What success looks like:

    • The ability to maintain effective functioning of the field office by providing administrative support to the Project Manager, Contract Administrator, and other field staff with respect to communications and records management
    • Completion of field inspection tasks for various projects to ensure compliance with construction contracts and applicable quality standards
    • Accurate review and interpretation of construction drawings and specifications
    • The ability to verify quantities, prepare progress reports for review and maintain various construction documentation, schedules and records
    • An aptitude for identifying contractual and regulatory deviances and work with the project team to find solutions
    • Liaise and maintain effective communication between clients, contractors and consultants


    What you bring:

    • A minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience in a similar inspector or quality assurance role for municipal or transportation construction projects
    • A university degree or college diploma in civil engineering or a related discipline
    • Certified by OACETT for the Road Construction Junior Inspector (RCJI) designation is a strong asset
    • Some knowledge of design standards, specifications and materials associated with construction, laws and regulations including environmental, occupational health and safety requirements and their application in construction contracts
    • A willingness to work with the team to resolve project issues on site
    • The ability to operate survey equipment (level and transit) to verify construction progress

    Bonus skills and experience:

    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Excellent written and verbal communication, and presentation skills
    • Proficient in MS Project, MS Word and MS Excel
