    Colliers Project Leaders’ Edmonton office has been leading the development of the New Edmonton Hospital Project ($2 Billion) and as a result are looking to build our healthcare team. As Owner’s Representative and Planning Consultant on these amazing projects, our teams are responsible for master planning, design management, functional programming, schematic/indicative design, technical requirements and compliance monitoring.

    • Internal and external project teams know they can rely on your ability to manage change, communicate and coordinate between multiple stakeholders, resolve issues, and achieve project deliverables throughout planning, design and delivery
    • Maintaining governance across projects, leading to greater risk mitigation and management
    • Contributions to other local or national healthcare pursuits including leveraging existing contacts, supporting corporate growth strategies and engaging in business development and marketing activities focused on the healthcare business community

     

    Qualifications

    Who you are:

     

    We’re looking for a Senior Design Manager who is looking for the right opportunity to leverage their skills in the healthcare sector into a successful leadership role. You bring previous experience working on projects and providing oversight to consultants through master planning, functional programming, design phases and delivery of projects varying in scope, complexity and procurement methodology within the healthcare sector, including acute, long-term care and community health environments.

     

    You are well respected in the healthcare industry sector and bring knowledge, vision and experience working alongside high performing teams, and consistently exceed client expectations through design and delivery of major hospital, acute care and community healthcare facilities. 

     

    Are you looking to build upon your already stellar reputation as a leader in the healthcare sector to make a difference for our clients and their stakeholders? Look no further.

     

    What you bring:

    • A university degree in architecture, engineering or healthcare administration discipline, with professional status, or an equivalent combination of academic and practical experience relevant to leading building projects in the healthcare industry
    • Professional industry credentials such as Registered Architect, PMP, P.Eng., or other similar industry recognized designation is considered a strong asset
    • At least 12 to 18 years of experience working on projects, providing oversight to design teams and consultants, and representing owner’s interests on major healthcare projects
    • Prior experience operating in a consulting environment within the healthcare services domain
    • Strong leadership, stakeholder management and organizational skills with a proven ability to effectively influence, persuade others, manage conflict and resolve a variety of client, design, project and technical issues
    • Strong knowledge of master planning and design management, functional programming, procurement methodologies, construction methodologies, project management models and financial management, as well as contract law and relevant legislation
    • A strong ability to build credibility and trust with clients through both individual expertise and team performance

    Bonus skills and experience:

    • Exceptional communication, facilitation, interpersonal and presentation skills
    • Highly proficient in MS Project, MS Word and MS Excel
