    As Colliers Project Leaders continues to attract exciting project opportunities, we are seeking talented, finance-oriented co-op student to join our Accounting team.


    As the co-op student on our Accounting team you will gain professional experience by working directly with Accountants, AP, AR and business analysts. This co-op position calls for individuals who enjoy working in a collaborative environment who are detail orientated with a keen interest in developing operational accounting skills.


    Our ideal candidate is a student in their 2nd or 3rd year of an Accounting, or Commerce program, however we also welcome new graduates to apply.


    This role would be well suited for an individual looking for a broad range of experience to fulfill co-op hours of their program. The roles and responsibilities will provide a broad range of experience that would be helpful for starting your accounting career.



    What you’ll get to do as a co-op student:


    • Prepare general accounting entries (sales, accruals, prepaids).
    • Data entry.
    • Ensure accurate and appropriate recording of financial transactions and compliance with accepted policies and procedures.
    • Opportunity to learn project accounting and work within a large ERP system.
    • Preparing and maintaining accounting files, records and reports.
    • Assist and provide backup support to other accounting staff.
    • Entering and making changes to the PIS.


    What you’ll need to be successful:


    • Enrolled in an Accounting, or Commerce program or recently graduated.
    • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Demonstrated intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
    • Strong analytical intuition and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
    • Team player with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and direction.
    • Ability to adapt in a constantly changing environment.
    • Ability to effectively and courteously communicate written and verbal information, and to clarify requirements.
    • A service focused approach and willingness to work additional hours as needed to meet accounting deadlines.
