    What success looks like:

    • You have the ability to maintain effective functioning of the field office by providing administrative support to the Construction Contracts Administrator, Project Manager and other field staff with respect to communications and report management
    • You will engage effectively in field inspection tasks for various projects to ensure compliance with construction contracts and applicable quality standards
    • You have the ability to review and interpret construction drawings and specifications
    • You will effectively verify quantities, prepare progress reports for review and maintain various construction documentation, schedules and records
    • You can identify contractual and regulatory deviances and work with the project team to find appropriate resolutions
    • You have a knack for maintaining effective communication between clients, contractors and consultants

    What you bring:

    • A university degree or diploma in civil engineering or related discipline
    • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience working in a similar capacity on municipal and transportation construction projects
    • An understanding of design standards, specifications and materials associated with construction laws and regulations including environmental, traffic control, and occupational health and safety requirements and their application in construction contracts

    Bonus skills and experience:

    • Experience and training in road construction, in particular bridges and noise wall construction
    • Certification by OACETT for the Road Construction Junior Inspector (RCJI) designation
    • Excellent written and verbal communication, and presentation skills
    • Proficient in MS Project, MS Word and MS Excel
