    Responsibilities

    What success looks like:

    • You’ve led a number of municipal and civil infrastructure projects, varying in size and scope ideally in either bridges, transportation, land development or other horizontal infrastructure sectors
    • Your clients trust you and rely on your knowledge, skills and expertise to achieve their business goals and objectives.
    • Your clients are impressed with your ability to represent their best interests regarding contractual and technical issues
    • Your project teams rely on your ability to manage change, communicate and coordinate between multiple stakeholders, resolve issues, and deliver projects on time and on budget
    • You maintain contact with existing and prospective clients and respond to business development and sales opportunities with support from the Business Development Team, Principal or Regional Vice President

    Qualifications

    Who you are

     

    We’re looking for an experienced professional who is looking for the right opportunity to leverage their strong reputation in the municipal infrastructure into a successful leadership role. You bring a wealth of experience leading projects varying in scope and complexity in municipal civil works, water and waste water facilities, heavy civil works, bridges, transportation infrastructure, major land development, and various other forms of horizontal infrastructure.  

     

    You’re already known as a trusted advisor to your clients and have built strong, lasting relationships with senior leaders in large municipalities in Alberta that can be leveraged to develop further opportunities to support capital project delivery. You bring in-depth knowledge and have led and managed complex infrastructure projects from start to finish – on time and on budget.

    What you bring:

    • A university degree or diploma in civil engineering or an equivalent engineering discipline
    • At least 15 to 20 years of experience in project coordination and management, representing owners to deliver projects of varying size and scope on horizontal infrastructure and large civil projects
    • A solid foundation of experience, track record and reputation as a professional consultant to owners and developers of horizontal infrastructure and large civil projects
    • Strong relationships with large municipalities and demonstrated prior experience delivering large profile projects for municipal, regional, provincial or federal authorities
    • Understanding of development charges and knowledge of the municipal environment including the functioning of various departments in municipalities and cities
    • Professional industry credentials such as PMP, P.Eng., CET, or other similar industry recognized designation is considered a strong asset
    • Experience with the preparation of Requests for Proposals, Tenders and Tender Closing/Award procedures

    Bonus skills and experience:

    • Strong leadership and organizational skills with a proven ability to effectively influence others and resolve client, project and technical issues
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills
    • Proficient in MS Project, MS Word and MS Excel
