    As Colliers Project Leaders continues to grow and attract exciting project opportunities, we seek a Junior Inspector with previous Transportation Construction experience to join our team in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Under supervision of Senior Inspectors, the Junior Inspector will be responsible for field inspections and related documentation for a variety of transportation construction projects in different field office locations.

    How you’ll contribute as a Junior Inspector at Colliers Project Leaders:


    • Maintain effective functioning of the field office by providing administrative support to the Contracts Administrator(s), Project Manager(s) and other field staff with respect to communications and records management.
    • Engage in field inspection tasks for various projects to ensure compliance with construction contracts and applicable quality standards
    • Review and interpret construction drawings and specifications
    • Verify quantities, prepare progress reports for review and maintain various construction documentation, schedules and records
    • Identify contractual and regulatory deviances and work with the project team to find resolution
    • Liaise and maintain effective communication between clients, contractors and consultants


    What you’ll bring to the table:


    • A minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience in a similar inspector or quality assurance role for municipal or transportation construction projects
    • A university degree or college diploma in civil engineering or a related discipline
    • Certified by OACETT for the Road Construction Junior Inspector (RCJI) designation a strong asset
    • Some knowledge of design standards, specifications and materials associated with construction, laws and regulations including environmental, occupational health and safety requirements and their application in construction contracts
    • Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
    • Strong computer skills, including a working knowledge of scheduling (MS Project), word processing (Word) and spreadsheet (Excel) software applications
