The Construction Administrator will be responsible for administering the terms of construction contracts on behalf of our client for various construction site projects in different field office locations.

    How you’ll contribute as a Construction Administrator at Colliers Project Leaders:

    • Proven communication skills and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders including daily traffic commuters, business owners, and the general public
    • Be the primary representative for the client on the site and responsible for administering the terms of the construction agreement, ensuring the contractor’s performance is in line with the contract documents and that the client’s best interests are protected
    • Provide supervision and guidance to junior and senior inspectors on various construction site projects
    • Ensure and promote ongoing adherence to health and safety policies and guidelines on site in accordance with applicable health and safety regulations
    • Ensure regulation compliance through preliminary and ongoing site plan reviews
    • Prepare reporting, quantity measurements, claims and payment certifications
    • Liaise and ensure ongoing, effective communication between clients, contractors and consultants


    What you’ll bring to the table:

    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the construction administration of MTO, municipal, or public works type contracts including roadway and bridge construction.
    • A university degree or diploma in civil engineering or related discipline
    • Registered or eligible to register for P.Eng. or CET with the Road Construction Contract Administrator (RCCA) designation
    • Sound knowledge of design standards, specifications and materials associated with construction, laws and regulations including environmental, traffic control, and occupational health and safety requirements and their application in construction contracts
    • Previous experience and education or training in dispute resolution, MTO T131 Advanced Claims – Dispute Resolution certification an asset
    • Relevant construction contract administration experience on transportation projects
    • Previous experience performing asphalt, grading and structural inspections
    • Aptitude for reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications
    • Effective leadership and organizational skills with the ability to effectively influence others and successfully resolve a variety of client, project and technical issues
    • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
    • Strong computer skills, including a working knowledge of scheduling (MS Project), word processing (Word) and spreadsheet (Excel) software applications
