Overview

Colliers Project Leaders is scouting for a Project Management Co-op to join our team for the 2018 Winter term.

 

Our ideal candidate is a 3rd or 4th year post-secondary student enrolled in an Engineering, Architecture, Project Management or related program of study. We seek aspiring professionals who are driven to make the most out their time with us. In return, we will ensure they gain valuable access and exposure to the best leaders in the industry and directly contribute to exciting building and infrastructure projects.

 

 In order to be considered for an Intern role you are:

  • A 3rd or 4th year student of an Architectural Science, Engineering or Project Management Program
  • An individual who enjoys working in a fast paced and collaborative, team-based environment
  • Submit a cover letter, resume and an unofficial or official transcript

Responsibilities

What you’ll get to do as a Student at Colliers Project Leaders:

  • Work alongside and learn from best project leaders in the industry
  • Build the core project management skills - needed for future success - by assuming a hands-on role on capital projects
  • Gain valuable exposure to effective project delivery systems, processes and tools
  • Develop a deeper understanding of design principles, construction methodologies and contract law
  • Assist Project Manager(s) with a range of project activities including:
    • Planning and coordination of consultants and trades on projects
    • Drafting reports – cost tracking and progress status updates
    • Preparing meeting minutes, scheduling and budget adjustments, and preparation of tender and contract documents
    • Performing research for proposal and projects as needed
    • Ensuring activities and documentation are conducted in accordance with our Quality Management System

Qualifications

What you'll need to be successful:

 

  • 3rd or 4th year student enrolled in an Architectural Science, Engineering, Project Management Program or related discipline
  • Previous co-op/internship in an eengineering, architecture, construction or project management firm is considered an asset.
  • Professional appearance, candour and communication style needed to interact with our clients
  • Self-motivated, driven with and high level of personal accountability
  • Willingness to continually learn and advance technical knowledge.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and MS Project
