As Colliers Project Leaders continues to grow and attract exciting new project opportunities, we seek an Infrastructure Services Lead to join our Team in Halifax. This is a senior leadership opportunity for a professional who is ready to take on the challenge of growing an emerging service offering within an established project leadership company.

The ideal candidate must have demonstrated experienced and knowledge of municipal civil works, water and waste water facilities, heavy civil works, bridges, transportation infrastructure, major land development, and various other forms of horizontal infrastructure.

The Infrastructure Services Lead acts as a trusted advisor to Colliers Project Leaders clients, representing their interests at all times and providing technical and project leadership to the teams they oversee.

Responsibilities

What you’ll get to do as the Infrastructure Services Lead at Colliers Project Leaders:

  • Develop strong client relationships and act as the client’s single point of contact throughout the project to achieve the client’s goals and objectives;
  • Act as the key client relationship manager for the infrastructure sector, developing and nurturing relationships with new and existing clients;
  • Develop and grow the business and the infrastructure team within the region;
  • Regularly report on project status by means of schedule updates, meeting minutes, financial records and other reports;
  • Provide oversight and leadership to budget control, change management process and other contract or project related administrative documents;
  • Ensure that client expectations and satisfaction are met or exceeded on all projects and the client’s best interests are represented with respect to contractual and technical issues;
  • Select and organize project teams and establish levels of authority and lines of communication;
  • Chair meetings, find resolution to issues and coordinate between multiple stakeholders;
  • Demonstrate your leadership abilities and communication skills to bring together a variety of stakeholders to achieve results;
  • Coach and mentor junior team members.

Qualifications

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • A university degree or diploma in engineering (or an equivalent combination of academic and practical experience);
  • A minimum 10 years of experience in project management, representing owners to deliver projects of varying size and scope on horizontal infrastructure and large civil projects.
  • A solid foundation of experience, track record and reputation as a professional consultant to owners and developers of horizontal infrastructure and large civil projects.
  • Demonstrated prior experience delivering large profile projects worth $10 million or more for municipal, regional, provincial or federal authorities;
  • Understanding of development charges and knowledge of the municipal environment including the functioning of various departments in municipalities and cities;
  • Professional Designations (e.g. P.Eng.);
  • Thorough knowledge of the construction lien act;
  • Experience with the preparation of Requests for Proposals, Tenders and Tender closing/award procedures.
  • Effective leadership and organizational skills with the ability to effectively influence others and successfully resolve a variety of client, project and technical issues;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills;
  • Strong computer skills, including a working knowledge of scheduling (MS Project), word processing (Word) and spreadsheet (Excel) software applications;
  • PMP designation accreditation an asset;
  • Extensive client facing experience.
