Colliers Project Leaders is seeking an experienced leader in marketing and communications to join our Corporate team in Ottawa.

 

As a key member of the Development team, the Director, Marketing and Communications is responsible to develop and implement strategic marketing and communications plans that drive the demand for company services.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following: direct the development and execution of marketing and communications initiatives including service launches, sales collateral, tradeshows, campaigns, social media presence, company website, client and industry relations, internal communication, regulatory communications and corporate events. Manage brand delivery and consistency across all markets for all service lines. Collaborate closely with the president, vice presidents, directors, principals, business development managers and client relationship managers to drive continual process improvements and implement best sales support, marketing and communication practices.

The Director, Marketing and Communications actively leads, builds and manages the Corporate Marketing team which is comprised of the marketing strategies, brand & communications, and proposal writing functions. They are the driving force in the development of the work ethic, culture and values of the team. Through personal example, they are responsible to establish the style and approach which is responsive to Company need. They exhibit a hands on, client centric approach in delivering quality services and marketing products.

The Director, Marketing and Communications personifies the Colliers Project Leaders brand; actively promotes the importance of marketing activities to all staff; and delivers the brand message to clients and the industry.

Qualifications

What you’ll need to be successful:

 

  • University Degree in Marketing, Business or Communications or equivalent education and experience as a Director, Marketing and Communications. A graduate level degree is attractive.
  • 10 years’ leading marketing and communications teams for consulting businesses. Experienced in successfully building, coaching and motivating high performing teams while holding employees accountable
  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in the Marketing and Communications industry.
  • Knowledge of the project management, design, construction, facilities management or real estate sectors considered an asset
  • Sound knowledge of relevant computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite software, sales automation and CRM applications, desktop publishing applications, and social media tools and processes
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply marketing concepts and operating strategies (brand positioning, brand architecture, SWOT analysis, competitive assessment, marketing objectives/strategies, market segmentation, qualitative and quantitative research, media planning, trade and customer promotions, ROI, estimating ,creative development process)
  • Create compelling stories and calls to action by integrating text, design, imagery, video and other creative elements into digital and print to drive lead generation.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously and to thrive under pressure
  • Leading edge knowledge of web media including trends, design, blogging, search engine optimization, and hosting options is essential
  • Understanding of the relationship of the web to an integrated marketing program and optimizing its use as a low cost sales support tool
  • Good organizational, analytical, and logistical support skills
  • Flawless writing, spelling, and grammar skills are essential
  • Bilingual candidate, fully conversant in both verbal and written English and French is highly desirable
