Overview

Colliers Project Leaders IT/IS Team has an immediate opening for an Junior IT Project Manager to join our team in Ottawa.  

The ideal candidate will possess both a strong technical background and sound interpersonal skills that will allow them to interact productively with both technical and non-technical team members and consultants. 

 

The successful candidate will work alongside our IT Project Manager as part of the IT Department, reporting to the Director IS/IT.  The focus of the role will be the execution of internal IS/IT hardware and software implementation, modernization and maintenance projects that support Colliers Project Leaders Canadian and international business units. Additionally, the Junior IT Project Manager will be responsible for managing application change processes for some of the company’s enterprise applications and systems.

Responsibilities

What you’ll get to do as a Junior IT Project Manager at Colliers Project Leaders:

 

  • The day-to-day project management, planning, coordination, tracking, documentation and reporting of short duration IS/IT infrastructure projects.
  • Coordinate support cases related to improving various systems including analysis, implementation, test, deployment, training and hand-over to internal stakeholders.
  • Application change management processes for enterprise applications suites such as Dynamics AX, Dynamics CRM and SharePoint.
  • Coordinate and chair status calls, business requirements sessions, and solution reviews with Colliers Project Leaders staff, vendors and consultants from across Canada
  • Use project management methodology and business analysis techniques to plan, schedule, and facilitate the gathering and documentation of business requirements, specifications and requirements.
  • Manage the relationships between various internal and external project and application stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge and understanding of IS/IT infrastructure, including hardware, software and telecommunications
  • Either formal education or practical experience in software application implementation or software development
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; ability to listen, understand, and respond both appropriately and effectively
  • Ability to take the initiative and work under pressure with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of project management techniques and tools with practical experience managing IT/IT projects
  • Knowledge of business analysis techniques and tools
  • Effective time and task management skills
  • Customer and quality focused
