Overview

The Senior Manager Human Resources will provide leadership and expertise to help support our strategic and organizational goals for growth in new locations and sectors.  Reporting to the Director, Human Resources and supported by team members across the country, the Senior Manager HR will be responsible for supporting the business strategy and executing on key initiatives along with providing HR generalist support to our clients.  The Senior Manager HR will lead the annual HR cycles, ensure company compliance, and work on special projects to support the company’s growth and human capital strategy. 

 

Our preferred location for this role is either in our Mississauga or Burlington office; however we wish to hire the right person and are therefore flexible on the location.

Responsibilities

How you’ll contribute to the Organization:

  • Be a key, strategic Business Partner to a client group, including staff in the UAE.  Act as the subject matter expert for leaders and staff to provide thoughtful and effective coaching on performance  management, structural and staffing issues, compensation, organization design, employee engagement and overall organizational effectiveness
  • Coach leaders to manage and maximize the skills/capabilities of their team members to create an environment of high performance and growth
  • Lead all HR cycles for the company with the participation of the HR team, including annual performance, bonus allocation and salary reviews
  • Lead a team of HR professionals; both HR Business Partners and Recruiters
  • Ensure and maintain company compliance by leading the Health and Safety framework, AODA, Employment Equity and other such initiatives for the company
  • Support and in some cases, lead the research, design and development of HR initiatives in support of the company’s HR strategy, using expert knowledge of the business and working with leaders on the implementation and communication plans associated with the roll-out of such initiatives
  • Contribute to the formulation of the HR strategy, priorities and objectives, and collaborate with HR colleagues to implement cross-functional initiatives by sharing knowledge and experience
  • Foster a fun and engaging environment
  • Assist in the identification and execution of learning and development needs for the company

Qualifications

What you’ll bring to the table:

  • 8+ years of progressive experience within Human Resources, with strong business acumen
  • A diploma or degree with an emphasis on Human Resources Management or related discipline
  • CHRL designation preferred
  • Previous experience in a consulting or billable hour environment is preferred
  • Experience, education or a designation in learning and development would be an asset as this will be a major focus for the organization
  • Exceptional communication, organization, time management, client service and relationship building skills
  • A high level of positive energy, personal accountability and initiative.
  • Experience developing and executing talent acquisition, management and diversity strategies
  • Leadership with a superior ability to execute through the use of impact and influencing skills
  • Self-motivation and a team-focused  approach
