Colliers Project Leaders is seeking a strategic and business-savvy Manager, Marketing Brand & Communications to join our growing team in Ottawa.


The Manager, Marketing Brand & Communications is responsible for assisting the Director, Marketing & Communications, with developing and implementing brand and communications strategies in support of Colliers Project Leaders’ overall business goals.


The Manager, Marketing Brand & Communications is responsible for managing the Company’s visual and verbal brand, including ongoing monitoring and internal education of the brand guidelines; continuing to develop the graphic standards guidelines and writing style guide; developing infographics; managing photography and videos in alignment with the brand; initially providing hands-on graphic design and desk-top publishing support while establishing a network of external graphic designers and desk-top publishers; training the external graphics network in the Colliers Project Leader’s brand; offering the graphics service in support of proposals, marketing and communications initiatives; overseeing the Company’s websites, internal communications, content management and social media practice.

What you will get to do as Manager, Marketing Brand and Communication:

  • Developing and leading the Marketing Brand & Communications team
    • Assess the third-party team of service providers and broaden network as required to address all aspects of the work required to be performed through a competitive procurement process.
    • Develop and implement consistent job descriptions, expectations and performance metrics for the Marketing Brand & Communications team
    • Oversee all marketing brand and communications strategies and execution for the Marketing Strategy team, Business Units, Sectors and Services to ensure quality, and timeliness of those deliverables
    • Develop and implement a responsive structure within the Marketing Brand & Communications team to ensure each team member is fully familiar with the needs of their internal clients
    • Supervise, motivate and monitor the Marketing Brand & Communications team’s performance
  • Developing and overseeing annual marketing plan that aligns with sectors and services business plans and goals; develop integrated marketing and communications activities; delegate activities to Marketing Brand & Communications team members or outsource work to third-party network in a seamless and responsive manner
  • Developing and overseeing national brand and communications strategies, with input from the Marketing Strategies team and the Regional Sales & Marketing team to execute regionally
  • Monitoring materials and tools for consistency, alignment and brand positioning
  • Serving as the “go to” resource for the Marketing Strategies team, key regions, sectors and service offerings and manage assignments of new requests
  • Ensuring that Company policies and processes are abided by the team and suppliers
  • Ensuring Branding standards are abided by the team and suppliers
  • Conducting and overseeing research, e.g. web analytics, competitor branding, best practices in web and content marketing
  • Performing other duties as requested by the Director, Marketing and Communications


What you’ll need to be successful:

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Marketing/Communications or equivalent work experience
  • Certification in Graphic Design would be an asset
  • 8 or more years of experience working in graphic design, brand and corporate communications
  • 5 or more years of experience working in a professional consulting firm/business-to-business environment
  • 2 or more years of experience managing or supervising project teams
  • Demonstrated experience in assembling and managing a highly effective team of third-party consultants to deliver web, graphic design, writing, communication, photography and other services in a cost-effective manner that is responsive to variable workloads
  • Knowledge of the project management, design, construction, facilities management or real estate sectors considered an asset
  • Strategic thinker who understands the big picture, and leads and contributes effectively
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously and to thrive under pressure
  • Knowledge of branding and positioning
  • Knowledge of graphic design, desk-top publishing, photography and video, and related software
  • Knowledge of websites, search engine optimization and related monitoring and reporting
  • Knowledge of internal and corporate communications
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Canadian’s Anti-Spam Legislation
  • Knowledge of social media and related monitoring and reporting
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply marketing concepts (positioning, marketing planning and strategies, SWOT analysis, competitive assessment, market segmentation)
  • Demonstrated experience developing, leading and implementing corporate marketing and communications initiatives including: strategy; tactical plans; related policies; branding; marketing and sales collateral; PowerPoint and other presentations; website and content development, including lead generation and SEO; photography; video; internal communications and social media
  • Excellent creative and writing skills for variety of media
  • Precise and accurate attention to detail
  • Knowledge of relevant computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite software, sales automation and CRM applications, desktop publishing applications, and social media tools
  • Bilingualism is an asset.
